Background

It’s not every day we get to work with zombies in our creations! This was an awesome project for a funky little business run by a great entrepreneur in Victoria. Karrie Hill runs the Deadbeetz food truck and cooks up some of the most amazing burgers you’ll ever have.

Working on this project was great. Zombies, burgers, a crazy truck all done up, and an awesome spirit overall. Can’t ask for more than that!

Thank you for an awesome project Deadbeetz.

All about the truck

On this project we were given a pretty great style to match: a giant truck painted up with ‘zombeets’ on all surfaces, a funky urban approach to delicious, fresh local food and an outgoing chef.

In addition to using the truck as our approach to designing the layout and colours, we really wanted to tell the story of the truck and the owner & chef, Karrie Hill. We integrated video and photos into the website to showcase everything from the making of the truck through to Karrie’s appearance on Eat Street, the Food Network’s show about food truck culture.

Responsive Design

We went through a few different iterations to connect where the truck is in real time to the website. We started thinking of big fancy ways to integrate live maps, event systems, and custom programming, and returned every time to a system of simple, clean graphics and clickable map links.

Yet again, sometimes the simplest solutions take the most work to get to!
